Avalon History Center presents: Teddy Roosevelt
Teddy Roosevelt was one of our most amazing Presidents. He was a sickly child but developed into a strong young man. His wife and mother died on the same day. He then took a year to grieve and explore the West. Upon his return, he focused on politics eventually becoming the Governor of New York and the Vice President of the United States. When President Mc Kinley was killed, Roosevelt became our 26th President. He is best known for his efforts in developing the Panama Canal and championing the conservation movement.
