The Bryan Allen Stevenson School of Excellence (BASSE) is a free public charter school located at 20346 Ennis Street, Georgetown, DE, 19947. We will open with our inaugural 6th and 7th grade classes in the 2023-2024 school year. At full enrollment, our school will serve grades 6 through 12, adding a new 6th grade class each year.

Open to all Sussex County students, we're committed to being one of the best charter schools in Delaware. BASSE offers a unique educational experience through a rigorous, interdisciplinary curriculum rooted in service-learning and personalized for each student.

We teach students to think critically, solve complex problems, be more culturally aware, and engage with people in a rapidly changing world. Students direct their learning pathway and develop the skills and confidence needed to thrive and make a lasting difference. They'll be well prepared for college or ready to enter the workforce.

Our students learn through a community-focused lens inside and outside the classroom while gaining academic skills in a culturally responsive and supportive environment. Inspired by the philosophy of social justice advocate Bryan Stevenson, our school's approach is to "get proximate," or closer, to the needs of our students and community by partnering with them to identify their challenges and create sustainable solutions.
