Atlantic Cape Community College's Office of Student Engagement and Diversity, Equity and Inclusion presents Bettie Mae Fikes: The "Voice" of Selma.
Hear the firsthand story of Bettie Mae Fikes, who is the living embodiment of courage, love and resilience. She walked side-by-side with Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and her close friend and civil rights advocate, the late Senator John Lewis, in Selma, Alabama.
Today, Ms. Fikes is fighting to honor those who have courageously fought for voting rights in America by advocating for the passage of the John Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act.
This event is free and open to the public. Light refreshments will be offered.
