ash tuesday's album release party
ash tuesday is the bedroom rockstar persona of 26-year-old Macon, Georgia-based singer-songwriter Ashlynn Kilcrease. When she’s not rotting in her childhood bed, she plays guitar on it - or finds something new to cry about. Her songs, shaped by a deep love of storytelling and a tendency to feel everything all at once, capture the perfectly messy in-between limbo of growing up yet still feeling like a kid. ash's debut LP ‘aught,’ out August 22, takes her sound out of the bedroom and into the basement — louder, more real, and a little more unhinged. Full of jagged guitars, hyper-specific yearning, and existentialist rumination, it’s a record for the chronically nostalgic, 2012 Tumblr-heads, fanfiction readers and writers, people who sit alone with the dog at a house party, and anyone who has stared out of a car window like they’re in a music video.

Monsoon is a two-piece indie rock band from Athens, Georgia who weave together unorthodox styles to create music that dips between the conscious and subconscious. After the release of Monsoon's debut album “Ride A’Rolla” the band garnered the attention of Toyota and were contacted about using the title track for a Toyota Corolla commercial. From there, the placement landed a spot just after the 2016 Super Bowl half-time show and the band was invited to participate in the world’s first “360 multi-cam music video” launched by Google. Between the reach of the placements and touring, Monsoon gained a small cult-like following along the East Coast. Now, after the release of Ghost Party in 2022, Monsoon stays busy, relentlessly touring up and down the East Coast, Midwest, and Canada.
