“Battle Royale” at the Plaza for Aaron Strand’s “Behind the Slate” Series
This Thursday, the renowned feature film Battle Royale (2000) is coming to the Plaza Theatre as a part of the live film-history podcast “Behind the Slate,” created by filmmaker and podcaster Aaron Strand. With special guest Delaney Tarr!
The film follows a group of junior high school students forced to fight to the death by a totalitarian Japanese government. This event kicks off Strand’s Films Against Fascism series—with the screening to be followed by an in-depth introduction, post-film discussion, and audience Q&A.
