Grove Park Foundation Heroes Event

Grove Park Foundation invites the greater Atlanta community to the second annual signature awards-style Grove Park Heroes event on Thursday, March 28, 2024 at 6 pm. The special evening, which features a reception, dinner, and program will take place at Delta SKY360 Lounge at the Mercedes Benz Stadium, celebrate the Grove Park community, and set the stage for the best of Atlanta. "The Grove Park Heroes Awards is a cherished event dedicated to honoring outstanding leaders within our resilient and historic community,” states Executive Director Gavin McGuire. “Recognizing remarkable contributions in business, education, community development, and service, this event celebrates the vital role Grove Park plays in the growth, development, and legacy of the City of Atlanta. We are thrilled to provide a platform for acknowledging and expressing gratitude to the exceptional contributors and catalysts shaping our community's bright future." The celebration will honor Pinky Cole Hayes as the distinguished recipient of the 2024 Grove Park Foundation Icon award. The founder and driving force behind Slutty Vegan, a plant-based restaurant chain in Atlanta, her unwavering passion and drive serve as an inspiration, sparking a beacon of motivation for aspiring entrepreneurs. Recognized on the Time 100 Next List for individuals with an outsized influence on American culture, her philanthropy and impact on women’s and minority entrepreneurship embodies the foundation’s vision for equitable growth. “It is an honor to be recognized by the Grove Park Foundation with the Icon Award. Philanthropy and giving back to my community are a part of my DNA, and supporting and encouraging entrepreneurs is my passion. I am so fortunate to have the chance to help people from all walks of life and inspire them to tap into their full potential,” Pinky Cole Hayes remarks. The evening also recognizes four Grove Park Heroes from the community who are making a difference in education, business, youth, and community-building. The event is open to the public. Tickets and sponsorships are available for purchase, including the option to secure a Community Sponsor Ticket that purchases a ticket for a community member alongside an individual ticket. All proceeds support current residents of the historic Grove Park neighborhood. Grove Park Foundation has worked in the Grove Park neighborhood of northwest Atlanta since 2017 to mitigate displacement and disruption for neighbors, prepare for current and future opportunities, and build capacity and infrastructure to sustain equitable growth. The foundation seeks to engage with the community and partners to create the conditions for people to thrive. For more information, visit www.groveparkfoundation.org.
