Shook's debut novel IF WE'RE BEING HONEST (Celadon/Macmillan, April 18, 2023), is "a poignant exploration of the bonds of family and all the ways love can surprise us, at any age."
When Gerry, the beloved Williams patriarch, dies suddenly, his grandchildren flock from across the country to the family home in small-town Eulalia, Georgia. But when Gerry's best friend steps up to the microphone, he delivers a eulogy-and a confession-that rewrites the Williams family history.
Shook graduated from the University of Georgia in 2016 with degrees in Creative Writing and Mass Media Arts. Born and raised in Georgia, she now lives in Manhattan. This is her first novel.
Following a conversation with the author, books will be available for purchase and signing.
