Which side of the river are you on?
It’s more than just a game. It’s a tradition that has brought two communities together for generations!
Join the Northampton County Historical & Genealogical Society for Rivalry on the River, a special panel discussion exploring the history, traditions, and lasting legacy of the Easton–Phillipsburg Thanksgiving Day football rivalry.
Featuring panelists representing both Easton and Phillipsburg, this discussion will take a closer look at the memorable moments, legendary players, and community pride that have made this annual matchup one of the region’s most beloved traditions.
This year, we’re taking the rivalry beyond the football field for a good cause!
In place of paid admission, we’re asking attendees to bring canned goods to benefit the ProJeCt of Easton Food Pantry at St. John’s Lutheran Church. Donations will be divided into two teams, Easton and Phillipsburg, for a friendly competition to see which community can collect the most canned goods.
The stakes? Bragging rights and a special place in museum history! The school with the most donations will have its football jerseys displayed in the Sigal Museum’s front window following the panel, where they will remain until after the Thanksgiving Day game.
Whether you’re cheering for the Red Rovers or the Stateliners, this is an opportunity to celebrate a shared history while giving back to our community.
Admission: Canned goods to support the ProJeCt of Easton Food Pantry. No monetary admission fee is required.
Come represent your team, support a great cause, and discover why this rivalry is about so much more than football!
