House of Hamill in Concert

National touring act, House of Hamill, kicks off their spring tour at the Sellersville Theater on Thursday, April 4th. Also featured on the bill is the Vermont-based, Louise Bichan Band.

House of Hamill’s music is described as “on the edge of tradition and innovation”. The band includes Rose Baldino (fiddle and vocals), Brian Buchanan (fiddle, vocals, and guitar), and Caroline Browning (bass, mandolin, and piano). The trio tours nationally, performing at Celtic festivals and established folk venues.

The third House of Hamill album, “Folk Hero”, received strong support on the Folk-DJ charts, as well as from Celtic music podcasters. Their fourth CD, “Wildfire” was recently fan-funded through crowdsourcing. One of the tracks slated for the upcoming album was released as a music video and single on March 1st. The song is “Banks of the Brandywine”, an ode to the folklore surrounding a notorious Brandywine River location.

Regarding their April show, Baldino remarks, "Playing the Sellersville Theater truly feels like a homecoming. We had a blast playing to a packed house with Enter the Haggis in early March, and we feel so lucky that we get to come back only a month later. It’s also an honor to be sharing the stage with Louise Bichan – she’s a serious talent and we can’t wait to see her with her full band."

The three musicians in House of Hamill also tour with the long-time Celtic rock band, Enter the Haggis, which means that House of Hamill is constantly on the road. Their 2023 schedule led them to perform in at least 28 states and 3 countries, including hosting a sold out bus tour through the west of Ireland at the end of this month.

Whether they’re ripping through a set of original jigs and reels, adding lush three-part harmonies into traditional folk ballads, or cracking up an audience with stories from the road, House of Hamill puts on a show that captivates audiences from the very first note.

“An extraordinary musical experience.” - Anita Lock, Irish Music Magazine, April 2022
