Plein Air Painting with Tom Nieman at Rail Gap

Plein air painting, meaning "in the open air" in French, is the practice of painting outdoors, directly from nature, in contrast to painting in a studio. It's a way for artists to capture the essence of a landscape or subject by incorporating natural light, color, and movement.
Walk the preserve with experienced local artist Tom Nieman, who will guide a group plein air painting session along the banks of Pocono Creek.
- Seasoned artists will offer guidance to beginners on plein air techniques, composition, and color theory.
- Participants will have the opportunity to share their work and experience with the group.
Supplies: Participants should bring their own preferred materials, brushes, chairs and easels. Some basic art supplies (e.g., paper, pencils, watercolors) will be available.
