People's Light & Theatre's Live Auction

The People's Light and Theatre Live Auction to benefit Arts Discovery takes place Friday, April 19, 2013 from 6pm to 10pm at the Main Stage and The Farmhouse. The evening includes a sneak peek of the World Premiere of Stargirl, adapted by Y. York from the novel by Jerry Spinelli, directed by Samantha Bellomo. The evening continues with a silent and live auction, an elegant seated dinner by The Farmhouse, and a raffle drawing for a stay at a luxury Tuscany villa.The People's Light Live Auction is the premiere fundraising event for our theatre's comprehensive education program Arts Discovery. Participation in the event helps People's Light achieve our goal of $110,000 for Arts Discovery. Reaching more than 30,000 children throughout our region annually, these programs taught by professional teaching artists provide high-quality, enriching theatre experiences, both in the classroom and on stage. Arts Discovery programs on our campus and in schools create a diverse and supportive environment where students are encouraged to take risks and grow.A highlight of the evening is to honor local author and critically acclaimed Newberry Award-winner Jerry Spinelli whose novels such as Maniac Magee, Eggs, and Crash, are regularly taught in school districts locally and worldwide.
