Visiting Poet Marcella Durand, "A Winter Triangle"
Marcella Durand is a poet, essayist, and translator, who has been called "an essential voice in ecopoetics and one of the most inquisitive and acutely tuned poets of her generation" (poet Brenda Coultas). In accepting the C.D. Wright Award for Poetry in 2021, she explained that her poems "explore the possibilities of new poetic language and forms that are radical, equitable, and truthful, particularly about ecology and climate change. "A Winter Triangle," her fifth published collection, explores the creation of order out of mystery and chaos using the infinite possibilities of poetic composition.
The event is free and open to the public. The author will read from and sign her books and will be interviewed by Poetry Curator Helen O'Connor. Join us after the reading for a celebratory glass of Prosecco.
