Poet Adrienne Su (“Hot Sour Salty Sweet”)
Frenchtown Bookshop welcomes celebrated poet Adrienne Su to read from her five books of poetry and to celebrate her first nonfiction book, "Hot Sour Salty Sweet."
Dickinson University poetry professor Adrienne Su's playful and poignant poems draw from her experience as a first-generation Chinese-American woman who grew up in Georgia. They have been published in The New Yorker, New Republic, the American Journal of Poetry, and in an astounding six "Best Poetry in America" anthologies, including the 2024 collection.
Her latest book, "Hot Sour Salty Sweet," is a set of essays, interviews, and poems that focus on the collision of Chinese and Southern culinary culture and the ways that food has influenced her poetry.
The event is free and open to the public. The author will read from and sign her books and will be interviewed by Poetry Curator Helen O'Connor. Snacks inspired by the book will be served!
