Author Andrew Lawler, "A Perfect Frenzy"
Andrew Lawler's new book reveals a largely-untold cause of the Revolutionary War: Virginia's rebellion against its Royal Governor, the Earl of Dunmore, and its decision to support the split from Britain. Historian Gerald Horne calls the book "pathbreaking...a gift this troubled nation needs as it approaches its 250th anniversary."
Andrew Lawler is the author of four books and more than a thousand newspaper and magazine articles. He most recently visited the Bookshop to present his book "Under Jerusalem: The Buried History of the World's Most Contested City," which won the Archaeological Institute of America's Holton Book Award for conveying "the excitement of archaeological discovery to the general public."
Free and all are welcome. The author will read from and sign his book.
