Wildlands Conservancy - Monarch Tagging & Meadow Exploration
Join Wildlands Conservancy for a hands-on Monarch Tagging & Meadow Exploration. This immersive outdoor experience invites participants to explore vibrant meadow habitats while directly supporting monarch butterfly populations in the Lehigh Valley. Led by our Senior Restoration Ecologist and a Wildlands Environmental Educator, this program connects participants to Wildlands’ mission to protect natural landscapes while fostering environmental stewardship through science, discovery, and exploration.
Program Highlights:
Monarch Tagging as Citizen Science
Under the expert guidance of our Environmental Educator, participants will learn how to carefully capture and tag monarch butterflies as they prepare for their migration to Mexico. By contributing to this important citizen science project, you’ll help track monarch populations and support international efforts to monitor their migration and survival.
Guided Meadow Exploration
Participants will explore a native meadow habitat and learn about the plants, pollinators, and ecological relationships that support monarchs and other wildlife. Discover how these rich ecosystems function, identify native species, and gain a deeper understanding of the critical role meadows play in sustaining biodiversity. Nets will be provided.

Nature enthusiasts, families, educators, and anyone interested in butterflies, pollinators, and the beauty of meadow ecosystems. Adults and children 10 and up.
