Conversations with the Curator: The Legacy of Timothy George Hare

Each month, tune in to explore some of our favorite artifacts, delve into the overarching themes of our galleries, or get a sneak peek into the planning and design of an upcoming exhibit. On Wednesday, June 26, 2024, join NCHGS’s Curator of Exhibitions in honoring the life and legacy of one of Easton’s most beloved icons, Tim Hare. Often described as “larger than life” and known for his warm smile and large, white frame glasses, Tim worked as an architect, pen-and-ink artist, and a tireless advocate against federal ‘urban renewal’ plans that targeted downtown Easton from the 1970s onward. But while some remember Tim for his architectural and artistic works, no aspect of his life would be complete without the love and resilience of his husband, Earl Ball. Together for 44 years, Tim and Earl participated in most Gay Pride marches in NYC since 1977, advocating for marriage equality and LGBT rights in the city and beyond. Join us for a conversation celebrating Tim’s life and legacy, and get a sneak peek of an upcoming exhibit here at the Sigal Museum featuring some of his works, documents, and collections. Registration is not required for this program. Visit our website for the Zoom link.
