Bethlehem, Pa. Chapter DAR America 250! Open House

The Bethlehem, Pa Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR), invites the public to celebrate America 250! with an open house on Saturday, February 1, 2025, from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. The celebration will feature guest speakers on Bethlehem during the Revolutionary War. The open house will be held at the DAR Memorial House located in Rose Garden Park located on 8th Avenue between W. Union Boulevard and W. North Street in Bethlehem. The purpose of this event is to commemorate and celebrate the 250th anniversary of the United States by sharing with the public how Bethlehem was part of our nation’s history. This event is made possible by funding received from the Stars and Stripes - America 250! Celebration Grant, sponsored by the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution. Speakers, Scott Gordon of the Sun Inn, and Ted Moyer and Sabrina Moody of Historic Bethlehem Museums & Sites will feature Historic Moravian Bethlehem as one of only eight National Historic landmark Districts in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Moyer and Moody will speak at 12:00, and Gordon will speak at 1:00. Participants will be able to see the inside of the log cabin, a replica of the First House that was built in Bethlehem in 1741. Children attending the event will receive a coloring book featuring American Patriots. “We look forward to welcoming the community to have a glimpse of our area’s part in the Revolutionary War,” says Bethlehem, Pa. Chapter Regent Geraldine Falk. “We are honored to be a part of the ongoing celebrations of the founding of our nation.”
