British Motorcar Gathering
Up to 200 vintage British sports cars and sedans will be on display Sunday when the annual British Motorcar & Motorcycle Gathering is staged at the Alfred J. Fritchman Reservoir Park in Hellertown, just south of Bethlehem.
Spectators are invited to come see many beautiful and interesting classic cars and enjoy the day in the wooded park from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., with music and catered breakfast and lunch food available in a large picnic pavilion.
Admission is $5. Children 12 and under admitted free, with a British car coloring book and a car search game provided for their education and entertainment. Admission includes parking at Saucon Valley Middle School, 2100 Polk Valley Rd., Hellertown, and free trolley bus rides running a continuous loop to and from the nearby park during the show. Spectators also get a free ticket for a special gift basket raffle, being held just for those who have come to see the cars.
This show — now in its 32nd year — features MGs, Triumphs, Jaguars, Austin-Healeys, Morgans and Mini from throughout the region, plus many rarer vehicles. Classic British sports cars, sedans and motorcycles dating from the 1930s to present day will be on display, with separate areas for each make.
The annual show is hosted by the Keystone British Car Club, a Lehigh Valley-based organization of more than 150 members.
The British Motorcar Gathering will be held, rain or shine, on Sunday, June 14 at Hellertown Reservoir Park, in the Allentown/Bethlehem area. From Interstate 78, take Exit 67, following Route 412 south to Hellertown. After two miles, turn left onto Polk Valley Road, and look for Spectator Parking sign at Saucon Valley Middle School.
