Museum of Indian Culture Roasting Ears of Corn Festival


Admission prices are $10 for adults, $7 for teens and seniors, and complimentary for children aged 11 and under. This family-friendly festival honors the new corn harvest, a cherished tradition of community and gratitude, featuring Native American drumming, singing, dancing, artisans, crafters, indigenous food, and fire-roasted corn Enjoy activities for all ages, including children's hands-on arts and crafts, face painting, and pony rides. Try your hand at atlatl and tomahawk throwing and ancient fire-making techniques. Traditional demonstrations include flintknapping, beading, quill working, sweetgrass basketry, Wampanoag cooking, and flute-making techniques, with Cree demonstrator Katrina Fisher presenting her award-winning Plains teepee program. This year's headliner, Crystal Shawanda, an award-winning country and blues artist, performs daily at 11 AM and 4 PM. Native American drummers and singers include Youngblood Singers from Shinnecock Nation, NY, and White Buffalo Singers from Rosebud Sioux Tribe, SD, as well as Sicanni Purizaca on the Inca flute, Aztec Dancers, and Native Nations Dance Theater.
