The UNM Alumni Association in partnership with the Lobo Club proudly invites Lobo alumni and community members to the Lobo Living Room: The New Era of College Athletics — Unlocking Name, Image and Likeness from 5:15 to 7:30 p.m. (MST) on Monday, March 4, at Tow Diehm Athletic Facility located at 1412 University Blvd SE in Albuquerque (at the south end of the UNM Football Stadium). A reception will be held in the lobby with hors d’oeuvres and drinks being served at 5:15 p.m.; the presentation starts promptly at 6 p.m.
Kurt Roth, from 505 Sports Venture Foundation, will give this presentation on Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) and will provide a comprehensive overview of the evolving landscape in collegiate athletics, delving into the recent paradigm shift allowing student-athletes to monetize their personal brand and shedding light on its implications. Through a combination of speakers and real-world examples, the presentation navigates the intricate web of endorsements, social media influence, and branding strategies that now intersect with collegiate sports. Attendees will gain a comprehensive understanding of the NIL concept and its implications for student-athletes, universities, and sports.
