Guided Hike of South Point Day Use Area
This moderate to easy hike is approximately 2 miles roundtrip on hard-packed dirt and will take you along the base of the volcanic escarpment to see up to 200 petroglyph images. Learn about the history, culture, geology, and wildlife of the Monument. There are vault toilets in the parking lot, but no water. Bring plenty of water with you and wear comfortable, sturdy hiking boots/shoes with good ankle support. Binoculars are recommended for wildlife-watching and to see more petroglyphs.
