Piedras Marcadas Canyon is a sandy path that offers views of hundreds of petroglyphs and opportunities to see native wildlife. The trail is 1.5 miles roundtrip with no shade along the way. Difficulty level: easy to moderate. There are no amenities available. Bring plenty of water with you and dress for the weather. Wear comfortable hiking/walking shoes with good ankle support. Binoculars may be helpful for birdwatching. Ask your local library about borrowing a birding kit for free.
