Petroglyph National Monument was established on June 27, 1990, by an act of Congress (Public Law 101-313) to protect, preserve, and interpret the prehistoric and historic rock art found along the 17-mile-long volcanic escarpment on the westside of Albuquerque, NM. On this day, we celebrate how far Petroglyph has come since 1990 and what it has yet to accomplish in the coming years. Come by the Visitor Information Center for coffee, morning refreshments, and conservation with park staff, including Petroglyph Superintendent, Nancy Hendricks.
