Exploring a New World: The Journey of the Perseverance Rover, Larry Crumpler, Ph.D.
A Voices in Science Lecture.
The Perseverance rover has been traveling on Mars since February 2021 and has collected the first-ever samples from Mars, to be returned to Earth for further study. Join Dr. Larry Crumpler for a look at what it is like to do field geology on Mars and the discoveries of Perseverance.
Attendees will be able to experience our one-of-a-kind floor image that allows you to walk on mars.
Dr. Crumpler is Research Curator of Space Science at the at the New Mexico Museum of Natural History and Sciences and a Science Team Member on the Perseverance Mission.
The Museum is proud to be the only museum nationally, other than the Smithsonian Air & Space, to have been involved in both the Spirit/Opportunity and the Perseverance Rover Missions.
