The Rebbe’s Orkestra in Concert: A Freylekher Klezmer Khanikeh! (A Joyous Klezmer Chanukkah!) Saturday, December 9, 2023, 6:30 PM -9:00 PM.
Join The Rebbe’s Orkestra Klezmer & Judaic Band for a musical evening rich in culture and diversity - showcasing Hanuka songs & other songs in Yiddish, Ladino (Judeo-Spanish), Hebrew & Arabic, as well as klezmer dance tunes and instrumental Jewish music from around the world performed on a variety of instruments. The 5-member nationally recognized ensemble’s instrumentation includes accordion, violin, guitar, electric bass, mandolin, tenor banjo, Macedonian tamburas, pennywhistle, and percussion instruments such as the daide, riq, tar drum, tupan, cymbal, snare drum, woodblocks and Turkish wooden spoons.
All are welcome to celebrate the light with us: Havdallah (a braided candle & spice ceremony) and community menorah/chanukkiah lighting at 6:30 PM. The Concert starts at 7:00 PM and there will be an intermission with refreshments.
Bring your own menorah & candles to light - there will be a few extras to share.
Refreshments will be available! Dancing encouraged!
