Apache Kid presentation
Historian and archaeologist Karl Laumbach will present on Massai: New Mexico’s Apache Kid at 2 p.m., Sept. 13, at the Los Lunas Museum of Heritage & Arts.
Massai, who is often confused for the Apache Kid from Arizona, was a former Apache scout who rebelled with other scouts in 1886 after being imprisoned in Florida. He made his way on foot to the Southwest where he survived for 20 years in the mountains of southwestern New Mexico.
