•By building backyard refuges, we can actively care for our wild neighbors while contributing to a more resilient future for our city and make Albuquerque a refuge for people and wildlife.
•Join us to hear about backyard refuges and how to create habitat in even the smallest yard, patio, deck or balcony.
Laurel Ladwig, M.S., is the ABQ Backyard Refuge Program Director for the Friends of Valle de Oro National Wildlife Refuge and a “more-than-human” Geographer. She is Associate Director of the R. H. Mallory Center for Community Geography and an Adjunct Instructor in Geography and Environmental Studies & the Sustainability Studies Program at the University of New Mexico.
