City Nature Challenge 2024

City Nature Challenge ABQ invites everyone in Bernalillo, Sandoval, and Valencia Counties to explore nature in and around your community and share your observations from April 26-29, 2024. You can look for wildlife on your own, or attend a public event. Help us compete against cities all over the world. This is also the first year of City Nature Challenge Santa Fe, in Santa Fe, Los Alamos, and Rio Arriba counties! It’s easy to participate: 1) Set up an account at iNaturalist.org or in the iNaturalist app, and join the CNC ABQ 2024 project (https://www.inaturalist.org/projects/city-nature-challenge-2024-abq). 2) Take and submit your photos of animals and their signs (tracks, scat, feathers, etc.), plants, and fungi that you find during the challenge. 3) Help identify others’ observations, and have iNaturalist and its community help you, thru May 5th. City Nature Challenge is an annual global collaborative effort to find and document wildlife observations in and around urban areas, organized by the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County and California Academy of Sciences.
