Hoosick Blooms Garden Tour 20224

PRESS RELEASE: June 28, 2024 from CiviCure at the Wood Block Opera House Hoosick is Blooming! Eight Private Gardens and Farms Welcome Visitors for Hoosick Blooms 2024 Hoosick Blooms garden and farm tour is back and better than ever! This unique event offers eight private garden and farm sites that can be visited over the course of two days. Mark your calendars for this self-driving tour on Saturday and Sunday, July 13-14, 2024 from 10 am to 4 pm. All of these diverse gardens and farms are tucked into the beautiful rolling hills of Hoosick, New York and neighboring communities. Representing intensively planted plots in the Village of Hoosick Falls is the new Community Garden that includes orchard and berry plantings. Northwest of the Village, North Slope Farm welcomes you with ducks, chickens and goats who share their magnificent view, gardens and pond with the human hosts of this hillside haven. And down the road the Vallone Garden’s Revolutionary War period farmstead has an antique corn crib alongside the latest in greenhouses. Across the Hoosick River near Center Cambridge, the Garden at Craven House with its wide southern vistas hosts frogs and other water loving creatures amongst the water lilies, grasses and boggy plants at the base of a dramatic water feature. Not far away is the Bump Kelleher Garden with views to the Helderberg Mountains. Visitors are invited to bring a sandwich to enjoy at one of several seating areas throughout the garden. While in Cambridge, a third venue can be visited at Beloved Farm where 1,500 feet of reclaimed stone walls frame 5,000 square feet of perennial gardens, acres of lush lawn and a handsome timber-framed barn. Hoosick Blooms sites include two-hundred-year-old post and beam barns at the Historic Barns of Nipmoose, a hand-built wood-fired pizza oven at Groveside Gardens and working studios for both painters and writers. Enjoy rare plants and extraordinary architecture including gazebos and garden gates that inspire and welcome. Proceeds from Hoosick Bloom 2024 benefit CiviCure’s fund to restore the historic Wood Block Building and Opera House, a Village of Hoosick Falls anchor building at 1-5 Main Street. Wood Block will be open during Hoosick Blooms for free music and art with an exhibition by Deb Alter and Donna Maria DeCreeft. On Sunday visitors will be treated to music in the grand performance spaces on the third floor by traditional musicians Rosin the Beaux and MoCA Jam. The $40 per person tour pass is valid for both days. Children under 14 free.
