09/29/2024 02:00 PM 09/29/2024 03:30 PM America/Anguilla Free community concert Thanks to the Saratoga Community Arts grant, flutist Melanie Chirignan was awarded a community arts grant for her free community concerts, “Color and Sound.” This second concert will take place on Sunday, Sept. 29th at 2 PM. Along with pianist Melinda Faylor and cellist Laura Melnicoff, the trio are classically trained musicians who take elements of classical pieces and reimagine them into improvised compositions. They commissioned artist Mercedes Soriano to take a time-lapse a video of them while painting to one of their improvisations, which will be projected behind the performers while they play live to it, adding a captivating visual component.
