Author BRUCE G. HALLENBECK to appear at YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN
Bruce G. Hallenbeck, author of "Blazing Saddles Meets Young Frankenstein: The 50th Anniversary of the Year of Mel Brooks," will introduce this special screening of YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN, meet with audience members and sign books.
YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN is the 2nd in a series of three films being presented at Proctors in celebration of some of the beloved talent we lost in 2024. Tonight we celebrate the wonderful TERI GARR. While Garr has said that she originally desired the role of Elizabeth in “Young Frankenstein,” director Mel Brooks had already set his mind on Madeline Kahn. “If you come back tomorrow with a German accent, I'd love you to try out for the part of Inga,” Brooks told her. Without missing a beat, Garr put on a comically over-the-top accent and replied ‘Ja yez, I vill come bahck tomorrow.’ And the part became hers right then and there. Others in this incredible cast include Gene Wilder, Peter Boyle, Marty Feldman, Cloris Leachman, and Gene Hackman. Rated PG. 106 minutes.
