It’s all about who you know. Vampire bats share blood meals for survival, macaque monkeys form grooming pacts after a deadly hurricane, marmots warn others of danger lurking in the mist, and long-tailed manakins sing and dance their little hearts out. It pays to be well connected.
Dr. Lee Alan Dugatkin is a Professor and Distinguished University Scholar in the Department of Biology at The University of Louisville. He is an animal behaviorist, evolutionary biologist, and historian of science. He has written over 175 articles on evolution and behavior, and three books on the evolution of cooperation.
