Store: From Mott Street to the New York State Museum At the time of its closure in 1980, the Tuck High Co. store was the oldest continuously operating business in Manhattan’s Chinatown. Join NYSM Senior Historian and Curator Ashley Hopkins-Benton and Archives specialist Arabella Goodrich to learn more about the store’s history, how and why it came to the NYSM as an exhibition, and about current work to clean and conserve the collections inside. At the end of this talk, we invite you to tour the historic shop, which was owned and operated by three generations of the Lee family in Chinatown.
