Autumn’s here! Time to have some fun at Knickerbocker Historical Society’s 32nd Annual Harvest Festival on Saturday and Sunday, September 28 and 29, from 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. at the Knickerbocker Mansion, 132 Knickerbocker Road, Schaghticoke, New York. 8:00 – 11:00 a.m. – Breakfast under the Pavilion! Fluffy Pancakes with real Maple Syrup, Sausage & Fried Potatoes, our famous Knickerbocker Cheese Souffle and Borden Orchard Applesauce with Coffee, Tea and Orange Juice. Noon till 2:00 p.m. -- Lunch time! Serving our Traditional Chicken & Homemade Biscuits with Gravy, Cranberries, Squash, Cabbage Salad and choice of Apple, Pumpkin or Mincemeat Pie for dessert along with Iced Tea, Lemonade, Coffee and Hot Tea. Available for Pavilion dining or take-out. IN THE MANSION! This Knickerbocker’s venerable guest, Dr. Ben Franklin, will talk about his iconic 36 Indian Treaties, including 1754s Albany Plan of Union in this premier presentation, never before seen in Upstate New York, thanks to the winning stylizations of Paul Stillman. He’s bringing his BIG BOOK of Treaties for all to see. 11:00 a.m., 1:00 p.m., and 3:00 p.m. both days. ARCHAEOLOGY DIGS! Archaeologist David Moyer and Vivian James return to K-Mansion! Come and see the finds harvested from their on-going field study! MANSION TOURS every hour on the half hour from 9:30 a.m. both days. Stop by our Harvest Tables stacked with fresh produce, breads, pies and baked goods! Luscious varieties of pumpkins, squash, gourds and maybe even Indian Corn! Charlotte’s Shop, too!
