2nd Annual Mayfly Film Festival
The Schoharie River Center presents the second annual Mayfly Film Festival, premiering Saturday, May 25th, 7pm at Jay Square in downtown Schenectady.
The Mayfly Film Festival features a diverse program of international short films showcasing stories of sustainability, stewardship, and the environment. The program features 12 short films from all over the US, Europe, New Zealand, and Mexico, all centered around different environmental issues.
The Schoharie River Center wanted to create a short film program that was inspiring, urgent, and entertaining. The festival will premiere this May with a large kick-off event in Schenectady, followed by additional screenings in select cities across the Capital Region in the Fall.
The kick-off event will feature activities such as macroinvertebrate identification, and coloring for kids, as well as a timber frame construction demonstration and more. There will be food offered by local catering company Kitchen Love, as well as drinks offered by Great Flats Brewing. Local environmental organizations will also be on hand tabling with info about what they do, and how folks can get involved.
