Fly-In Drive In Breakfast Featuring: "A Naval Career of Discovery"


The Empire State Aerosciences Museum will hold its monthly Fly-In Breakfast on Saturday, November 18, 2023 from 8:30 am – 10:30 am at 250 Rudy Chase Drive, Glenville, NY 12302 (off Route 50). Enjoy an assortment of pancakes, french toast, eggs, sausage, potatoes, juice, coffee, tea, fruit and more. The breakfast is open to the public. At 10 am, Captain (Ret) Elizabeth L. Greenwood will talk about her storied career all over the world for the US Navy. A Cornell graduate, Greenwood began her career as a Naval Flight Officer. Deploying to Italy, Puerto Rico and Iceland, earning designations as P-3 Mission Commander and Tactical Coordinator. She joined the Reserves with Patrol Squadron Nine Two and served as Instructor Navigator/Communicator and NFO Training Officer, assisting with the P-3C Aircraft Improvement Program (AIP) and the Advanced Readiness Program. Mobilized to active duty, she served as Executive Officer of the Provincial Reconstruction Team in Khost Province, Afghanistan. Captain Greenwood held command of NR USW OPS Det Pittsburg 2014-2016 and also served as Program Lead of the Submarine Forces Reserve Component Strike Group ASW Program. She also served in NR NATO ACT IN Newport, RI as the Training Officer and completed a 10 month recall to active service to assist with the policy work for NATO Command Structure Adaptation. To wrap up her career, was as the NY State Navy Preparedness Liaison Officer in support of state government in times of disaster to save lives, prevent human suffering and mitigate great property damage. Retiring from service in 2022 and earning various medals, she is currently Comptroller for the Town of Niskayuna, a small business owner and a former Mayor of Tully, NY. She lives in Niskayuna, with her husband Commander (Ret) Michael Greenwood and their 2 children. Fly-In if you would like. Pilots: Tower Frequency 121.3; Ground 121.9.
