Albany 1st Friday Swing Dance w/ Teresa Broadwell Quintet
* 7-8pm - Swing Dance Lesson by expert Jason Fenton. No partner needed
* 8-11pm - Dance to the Teresa Broadwell Quintet
It’s time to put your Dancin’ shoes on, and chase away those wintertime doldrums! The Teresa Broadwell Quintet returns to the Albany 1st Friday Swing Dance.
The band will include: Teresa Broadwell on vocals and swing fiddle, Mike Novakowski on guitar, Pete Toigo on bass, Andy Hearn on drums and will feature local sax phenom, Brian Patneaude. They’ll be playing Swing, Standards, Boogie and Jump tunes tailored for East Coast Swing enthusiasts.
Formerly know as “Thrivin’ On A Riff”, Broadwell’s band has played for swing dances in Rochester, Ithaca, Poughkeepsie, Rhinebeck, Albany and at many other public and private events over the past 30 years. Veterans of the Albany 1st Friday Swing Dance may remember that this dance started in 1992 and has been thrivin’ ever since!
Cost: $20 General, $15 Student, 65+ Senior, DFO Member
Beginners: Take the 7pm lesson in East Coast Swing. You'll be dancing with nice people within the hour!
