Join us for a magical evening while helping the children in your community reach their potential!
Readers Theater is the major fundraiser for Wizard's Wardrobe, a high-impact nonprofit tutoring program for struggling readers in Grades 1-5 in Albany’s South End. Wizard's Wardrobe helps these students improve reading and writing skills. Our cause is important. Our students are minorities, they live in poverty, and many have experienced trauma. Every one of them comes to us reading below grade level and every one of them improves their reading while working with our tutors. But more than giving them skills, we get them excited about reading, listen to them and increase their self-confidence. As a result, they bloom. Students who don’t like school... can’t wait to come to Wizard’s. Students who are discouraged... become encouraged. Students who believe they’ll never be good readers... feel proud of their success as they improve. Wizard’s Wardrobe not only helps close the achievement gap between the haves and have nots; we change lives,
All proceeds from Readers Theater go to Wizard's Wardrobe. Doors open at 6 p.m. Program starts at 7 p.m.
