Momentum Series: Missy Raines & Allegheny
Groundbreaking 10x International Bluegrass Music Association Bass Player of the Year Missy Raines is on tour with her fabulous new project, Missy Raines & Allegheny. This GRAMMY nominated bass player, singer, songwriter is touring with her most Bluegrass-centric band yet. The name of the band, Allegheny, is a nod to the Allegheny mountains of West Virginia where Missy grew up and first listened to and learned to play bluegrass. With this hard-driving 5 piece ensemble, Missy has crafted a unique sound that reflects her earliest influences with a modern edge. A new album, Highlander, produced by Alison Brown, featuring this band along with a few special guests is scheduled for release in 2023 on Compass Records.
Allegheny is made up of Tristan Scroggins on mandolin, Ellie Hakanson on fiddle, Ben Garnett on guitar, and Eli Gilbert on banjo. Their new album, Highlander, produced by bluegrass heavyweight Alison Brown, is scheduled for release on Compass Records in Feb 2024.
