Caffe Lena Poetry Open Mic Featuring Samira Sangare & SG
The first Wednesday of every month is Poetry Night at Caffe Lena. Hosted by Carol Graser, this event includes an open mic reading and a featured poet. The doors open for signups at 6:30 and the readings start at 7PM. In February the featured performance will be by Samira Sangare and SG. Samira Sangare and SG have performed together at various events across the Capital District for many years. SG is a spoken word artist and poet known for her honest, passionate poetry and has performed widely. Samira Sangare is a slam poet, activist, human rights scholar and cofounder of Saratoga Black Lives Matter. For over 8 years she has been performing at local slams, rally’s, events and has organized several readings showcasing spoken word talent from across the area.
