Senior Piano Recitals - Raisa Ihnat & Dylan Salinger

RAISA IHNAT '24 & DYLAN SALINGER '24 - SENIOR PIANO RECITALS SUNDAY. APRIL 21st - 12PM Raisa Ihnat is a senior at Skidmore College majoring in music and minoring in Arts Administration. She has been playing piano for 13 years. She has loved collaborating with many ensembles throughout the music department, accompanying seniors at their recitals, and engaging with the greater Saratoga community outside of Skidmore through music. She loves playing all kinds of repertoire but has shifted her focus to music by underrepresented Ukrainian composers for the past three years. As a Ukrainian-American pianist, she takes great pride in being able to introduce beautiful Ukrainian music to her listeners. After Skidmore, she is looking forward to continuing her studies in music, sound engineering, and multimedia production after Skidmore. Dylan Salinger is a senior majoring in Computer Science and minoring in Theater. He has been playing piano for 8 years, but he has fallen in love with music and piano; he is very grateful to study piano with Dr. Kim at Skidmore and to have performed in two of her concert series, Young Kim & Skidmore Pianists recitals. He is overjoyed to perform some of the repertoire the has learned at Skidmore with Raisa. Originally, Dylan played a lot of jazz piano, and he participated in the Jazz House Kids summer program at Montclair State University, where he got the opportunity to perform at Dizzy’s Club at Lincoln Center and briefly study under Oscar Perez. He now enjoys playing all types of music, especially classical and romantic piano pieces. Outside of piano, Dylan has composed music and sound designed for over 6 seminar productions in the Skidmore Theater department. He is looking forward to continuing to combine his passions for music, computer science, and theater in his graduate studies at Boston University, where he will pursue a Master of Arts in Sound Design.
