Meet Elizabeth Zunon, artist and award-winning illustrator. Elizabeth has illustrated over twenty children's books, including “Stitch by Stitch: Elizabeth Hobbs Keckly Sews Her Way to Freedom” and “Martha and the Slave Catchers." She will share her artistic process using textiles and multimedia to tell stories about United States history. Following the talk, Elizabeth will be available to sign copies of her books, which will be for sale.
Copies of “Stitch by Stitch: Elizabeth Hobbs Keckly Sews Her Way to Freedom” and “Martha and the Slave Catchers” will be available for purchase during the event and 100% of all sales will support the Ten Broeck Mansion. Donations to support the Ten Broeck Mansion's archives preservation and transcription gratefully appreciated.
2 pm: Presentation, facilitated Q&A from audience, and book signing.
3 pm refreshments/reception on the Ten Broeck Mansion porch. Event concludes at 3:30 pm.
