The Last Resort Musical Comedy
The Drama Mamas Jewish Women's Group will present an original musical (for women and girls only!) On Sunday, March 10th and the 17th at 2:00pm at the Albany Civic Theater, 235 Second Avenue Albany, NY 12209. This event will provide a safe place for women and girls to "metaphorically " let their hair down. It's guaranteed fun for all!
The musicals arrive just in time for the Jewish holiday of Purim. The holiday commemorates the bravery of Queen Esther, a Jewish woman, who saved her people from destruction. Jewish communities around the world celebrate the holiday, by acting our plays or “spiels” which recount the story. In spirit of those performances, The Drama Mamas bring to life a new musical each year!
"The Last Resort" will explore the themes of contemporary Jewish culture and life. The original musical follows a group of women who meet to explore their Jewish identities. They learn a lot about each other and themselves. One year later, they have a reunion. Who has changed the most? Who made aliyah? Come see the show to find out!
