Back-to-School Community Give Back Day
In effort to alleviate the financial burden associated with heading back to school, the Barber Lounge, located in Loudon Plaza in Albany, invites Capital Region families to a free “Back to School Community Give Back Day.” Owner Kevin George anticipates his team will provide 75-100 free youth haircuts. The Give Back Day will also provide additional resources to families, such as free meals, face painting and donated backpacks and school supplies.
In addition to the Barber Lounge, many businesses throughout Loudon Plaza will be participating, such as TrustCo Bank, whose representatives will speak with families about how to open bank accounts for children. The Albany Police Department is expected to discuss child ID cards, and the Albany Fire Department will share safety tips.
This is the second year the Barber Lounge is hosting the event. No prior registration or appointments are required.
