Experience America's National Parks... A World Record Trek

The communities of Stark, Summit, and Portage counties are invited to attend a presentation by Uniontown resident Tom Wright, to learn about his exhilarating world-record Quest in 2023 to visit America’s 428 national parks: yes, accomplished in one year. Tom’s travels literally took him to the country’s four corners: from Guam and American Samoa, to Alaska, to Maine, and to the Virgin Islands, as well as, figuratively speaking, every acre in between. St. Jacob’s Lutheran Church (1460 State St NE, North Canton) will host the event, on August 14, from 6-8 p.m. in their expansive Garnes’ Hall. Tom has been presenting to various organizations in Ohio this year, hoping to energize people to step outside their doors and experience the country’s national parks. Hear about Thomas Edison’s laboratory complex, Angel’s Landing in Zion National Park, America’s last leper colony, and many other significant aspects of our homeland. These cultural, natural, and historical landmarks are the front-lines of America’s heritage and history. His new book, “One Year... One Quest – A World Record Trek,” has recently been published and is now available for purchase. Tom will be signing books before and after the presentation. The cost of the 513-page hardcover title is $25 (cash or check, please). Over 200 photographs accompany the text, providing a visual reference of many parks. Tom will be at Garnes’ Hall at 5:30 p.m., to accommodate anyone in the area who has previously attended his presentation before the book was available. But you are more than welcome to remain for a second hearing, if you would like. Refreshments will be provided. A few door-prizes will also be “donated” to the audience. If anyone has specific questions (logistics, accommodations, activities, etc.) about visiting one or more of the 428 parks, please come, ready to discuss your next adventures to experience our country’s ageless narrative. Interested folks can view Tom's website at www.anationalparksquest.com to experience his daily travels and find useful information to help you plan your own national parks' adventure.
