Talking Heads Tribute Band Proves It’s “The Same As It Ever Was” With 80s C

It may have been more than 20 years since artists like The Talking Heads, Police and Paul Simon ruled the airwaves. But thanks to some of DC’s most acclaimed tribute bands, they will prove that music is “The Same As It Ever Was” with a special live concert event at The Bullpen on Saturday, May 4.

Spearheaded by Psycho Killers, the East Coat’s premier Talking Heads act, this onslaught of 80s alt rock will also feature music by Synchronicity (Police Tribute) and the Jordan August Band (Paul Simon Tribute).

“Representatives from The Bullpen approached us with the idea to host a show on a weekend night when there wasn’t a baseball game,” said Ryan Porter, bassist for Psycho Killers. “We thought it sounded like a great chance to throw a throwback party in one of our favorite cities. We wanted to have some of our friends join us and take people back to a very special time.”

Kicking off the event at 6 PM will be the Jordan August Band from Baltimore, which is fronted by the singer/songwriter August, performing a set of Paul Simon classics, followed by Synchronicity, a DC-based Police tribute featuring members from several area bands, at 7 PM.

Psycho Killers, who are known for their high-energy interpretations of the entire Talking Heads catalog, will headline the show and perform hits like “Once In A Lifetime” and “Burning Down The House” as well as more obscure cuts like “Uh Oh, Love Comes to Town” and “Memories Can’t Wait.”

The Bullpen is an indoor/outdoor venue located at 1201 Half Street Southeast, Washington, DC.
