"Does the Constitution REALLY Allow That?" Public Forum
In 1787, the writers of the Constitution left us with a rich, historical record of their deliberations on how our democracy should work, enabling future generations to understand the type of government that they hoped to create, and the situations that they hoped to avoid.
The League of Women Voters – Canton Area is inviting the public to learn more about this cornerstone document, and what our founders would think about what’s happening today.
A public forum entitled “Does the Constitution REALLY Allow That?” will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 24, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., at the Stark Parks Exploration Gateway – Stark Library Perry Sippo Branch at 5712 12th St NW, in Canton. Multiple lots are available near and around the library for easy access to parking.
Sponsored by the League of Women Voters - Canton Area, the program features three experts: Joe Martuccio, retired Canton City Law Director; J. Dean Carro, Professor of Law, Emeritus, The University of Akron Law School; and Amy Dreussi, Professor Emeritus, The University of Akron. Both Martuccio and Dreussi are also members of the League.
Security will be present on-site throughout the duration of the event, at both the on-site parking area and inside the venue.
