FEVER DREAMS Art show & Bayard Rustin LGBTQ Resource Center Auction
22 Gallery and Baxter’s Speakeasy, Akron’s hub for experimental art, music, and community presents Fever Dreams, a dual painting collaborative featuring two of Akron’s most talented fine artists Jeffery Schleis and Jack E. Gibby. Curated by 22 Gallery Director Timothy Baxter.
Fever dreams opens June 1st & 2nd and runs through the end of November. An opening reception will be held on June 1st & 2nd from 5 to 9 p.m .
In addition to the art opening, 22 Gallery will host a silent auction and fundraiser for the Bayard Rustin LGBTQIA Resource Center for Social Justice, with a portion of proceeds benefiting the center’s work for civil and human rights. The bidding auction will take place both in person and online for the duration of the show.
Fever Dreams Art opening reception will feature live music by experimental jazz musician Smoke Face, Fever Dreams inspired specialty cocktails by Baxter’s Speakeasy and hor d'oeuvres by experimental gastronomy pop-up company Red Raven.
Fever Dreams offers a transcendental experience through the psychedelic and visionary works of 40 paintings by Schleis and Gibby. Fever Dreams is a poly-optic examination of the human condition and a visual exploration of the depths of the human psyche.

Together, their paintings take viewers on a journey into humanity’s deepest realms.
