Hubert J. P. Schoemaker Classic

This year's Hubert J. P. Schoemaker Classic to benefit Melmark will be held on Monday, October 6, 2014 and will kick off at 10 a.m. The event will take place at three of the area's premier courses: Waynesborough Country Club, Gulph Mills Golf Club, and The ACE Club. After a day of golf, attendees will gather at Waynesborough Country Club for a dinner as well as a live and silent auction. The silent auction is available online after September 2nd

The Schoemaker Classic Auction was organized in memory of Hubert J.P. Schoemaker, a pioneer in the life sciences industry who was known for giving back to the community, especially to children and adults with special needs. The event raises funds to support Melmark's educational, vocational and residential programs and services throughout the year

Founded in 2006, by Lee Ahrensdorf, President of Ahrensdorf and Associates, the Schoemaker Classic has become the major charity event for the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries. Co-chairs, Shawn P. O'Brien, President and CEO of Cipher Pharmaceuticals and Chairman of Key BioPharma Partners; Denny Willson, President and CEO of Hsiri Therapeutics, LLC; and Jim Eaton, Senior VP of NAI Geis Realty say they are proud to raise funds for Melmark in memory of Schoemaker. The three work with an incredibly talented and dedicated network of professionals to organize this event. To date, The Classic has raised nearly $3M for children and adults with special needs served by Melmark.

Melmark is a non-profit organization based in Berwyn that provides residential, educational, vocational and therapeutic services for children and adults with autism spectrum disorders, intellectual disabilities, acquired brain injuries and other neurological and genetic disorders.
