“Don’t let’s Forget the Girls…” Juliette Gordon Low, Founder of the Girl Scouts, always remembered that scouting is first and foremost about the girls! One hundred years later, how does scouting differ from when it first began? You’ll hear about the early days of the Girl Scouts from “Daisy” herself, when she visits Wyck on March 11, 2017.
After the program, we invite you to stay, enjoy some light refreshments, share ideas about the program and learn more about the women of Wyck! This program is intended for all ages, but is especially geared toward young audiences.
Juliette Gordon Low will be portrayed by Carol Spacht. Visit our website for more about Carol.
The Juliette Gordon Low program is presented at Wyck, inspired by the legacy of Wyck’s own Jane Bowne Haines II, who founded the Pennsylvania School of Horticulture for Women in 1910. The entire Women’s History Series at Wyck is presented in honor of the wondrous women who called Wyck home between 1690-1973, to continue their legacy of innovation, education and equality.
